Marluxia is the lord of Castle Oblivion, a mysterious castle that causes visitors to lose their memories upon entering. He is a member of Organization XIII and serves as one of the antagonists in Sora's story mode. Marluxia, along with Larxene, orchestrates a plan to overthrow the Organization by using Naminé to manipulate Sora's memories. He holds Naminé prisoner in the castle. Axel, an Organization double agent, releases Naminé and allows her to meet Sora, which ultimately foils Marluxia's scheme. Sora climbs to the highest floor of Castle Oblivion and defeats Marluxia.

In Their Own Story

Marluxia is the lord of Castle Oblivion. He lures Sora, Donald Duck, Goofy, and Jiminy Cricket to the castle by sending a man wearing a black, hooded coat to direct them there. Inside the castle, Marluxia holds Naminé prisoner and orders her to manipulate Sora's memories as part of his and Larxene's plan to overthrow the Organization. Axel, an Organization double agent, kills Vexen for his 'betrayal' to the Organization, but later releases Naminé and allows her to meet Sora. Sora discovers Naminé has been manipulating his memories under Marluxia's orders. Sora climbs to the highest floor and defeats Larxene and Marluxia.
